We’re your natural choice if you appreciate a cosy room, hearty breakfast and all the comforts of home. While situated in the middle of Røros, Norway’s mining town, Erzscheidergården offers quiet comfort. Røros is a town within easy reach, easily accessible by road, rail or aeroplane.
All the 16 rooms at Erzscheidergården have recently been refurbished, and each room has a shower and WC.
You’ll find this the perfect place to stay whether you come alone, with your family or as a group. We may have added modern comforts, but we’ve painstakingly preserved the sense of history and the genuine features of the old town traditions.
Each room is unique, featuring special and different colour.
Situated immediately above the church, Erzscheidergården has a beautiful view of the town and surrounding mountains. Bergstaden “the mining town” Røros has been designated a cultural historical monument, and been on UNESCOs World Heritage List since 1981.
The mining town of Røros is quaint and picturesque, and its special history and nature have given it a particular form and culture that just has to be experienced.
Mining was the foundation of the town, and there are many traces left after the 333years of operations.
Erzscheidergården belongs to this historical tradition. Sections of the house dating from the 1500s have been protected as a historical site.
We’d be pleased to arrange your party or wedding, and we’ll make it a special occasion to remember.
We can also arrange your conferences in collaboration with other Røros hotels. We’re fully licensed.
You need a hearty and tasty breakfast to ensure that your day is a good one. We offer our guests home – cooked foods, including freshly baked bread with all the trimmings, and hot waffles right off the iron. If you want a tasty snack in between mealtimes, most rooms have well - equipped mini kitchens.

Erzscheidergården keeps a horse which we use to take guest on a sightseeing tour of Røros. We also recommend Malmplassen, the museum centre, and Olavsgruva, the museum which once was a real mine. Strolling around this picturesque town of wooden houses, you’ll find a rich variety of shops on its memorable streets.
